I went for my eye check up to a well known opthamologist in Guad. yesterday. I went because the optometrist in Ajijic would not prescribe me new lenses before I saw the doctor. She saw something in my eye she felt should be looked at. She is not just a money maker.
My ocular pressure is OK. It is just one sign of glaucoma.
The doctor said that my lens was crowding and starting to block the eye fluid. There had been a change in 9 years.
If left it could lead to what they call “acute glaucoma”. He recommended laser surgery to the lens which we did that day.
Can you imagine being at an appointment at 11am and having corrective laser surgery at 12.30 and off to shop for the afternoon. Dad puts drops in for me every 4 hours for 5 days.
So I encourage you to read the following and take action. Even a child can have glaucoma. It is not just an old age condition. Your eyes are important.
Early detection, through regular and complete eye exams, is the key to protecting your vision from damage caused by glaucoma. It is important to have your eyes examined regularly.
